Some of Shelly’s recent engagements include a Chief Legal Officer for a Global Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, a General Counsel for an emerging private equity-backed healthcare provider, a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for a public healthcare services provider expanding aggressively into the international market, a Chief Compliance Officer for a specialty medical device company with a steep growth trajectory, international operations and a need to streamline and control interactions with 3rd parties, and a General Counsel for a Fortune 500 insurance company. Several specific roles are becoming a larger part of Shelly’s practice. Before joining BarkerGilmore, Shelly spent 8 years at international law firm Nixon Peabody in a managerial and administrative capacity leading large teams on complex, multi-district litigation matters for Fortune 500 clients.
Shelly holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Her article, “What Drives CCO Retention,” was published in Ethisphere Magazine.
