Managing Director

Position Overview

This is a role that will draw on your deep market or functional knowledge to the full degree, and which will enable you to hone your skills in a business that’s driven by excellence. The Managing Director position at BarkerGilmore is seen as a developmental position on the path towards Partner. Do well, and you’ll have the opportunity to advance to a role where you will be directly responsible for an industry or functional practice. You’ll get to that level by successfully securing and executing search assignments brought into the firm by you or one of our Partners. As a Managing Director, you will oversee the entire search execution process, from candidate identification to client management. Your deep market or functional knowledge and ability to deliver exceptional client service will ensure you quickly become known for your outstanding client satisfaction ratings, placement ratios and market expertise. It will also ensure that you make the transition to Partner level sooner rather than later.

Key Responsibilities

The Managing Director will play a leading role in developing new business and be responsible for executing assignments, including: 

  • Drive new business with prospective clients and develop relationships in a specific industry sector or function.
  • Work with hiring managers to scope search project by obtaining information that clearly defines the specifics of the job, including the responsibilities, requirements, compensation, company culture, etc.
  • Effectively evaluate candidate qualifications by conducting thorough interviews.

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of business experience.
  • An undergraduate degree.  JD or MBA is desirable.
  • Experience as a lawyer, compliance professional, sales professional, or consultant is ideal.
