Sabine Chalmers, who served as Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer and Secretary to the Board of Directors of Anheuser-Busch InBev, one of the world’s top five consumer products companies and the leading global brewer, has joined the advisory and coaching division of BarkerGilmore, a New York-based boutique executive search firm. The newest member of a distinguished team of Fortune 500 General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officers, Chalmers adds her considerable international expertise to the strategic counsel, leadership development, succession planning, and other services BarkerGilmore advisors provide to legal and compliance departments, CEOs, and boards across the country.

In addition to her more than a decade at Anheuser-Busch InBev, Chalmers served in a number of leadership positions, including General Counsel of Latin American and U.S. Businesses at Diageo plc, the world’s largest distributor of spirits and a major beer producer. Diageo sells its products, including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Baileys, and Guinness, in over 180 countries and has a primary listing on the London Stock Exchange. She also served in private practice and was a lecturer at University College, London, England.

Chalmers serves on numerous boards, including the Audit and Finance Committee for Coty, Inc.; Royal National Theater London; and the Association of Corporate Counsel, the largest not-for-profit professional association serving the business interests of in-house attorneys around the world with more than 34,000 members in 85 countries.

An American citizen of Indian and German origin, she resides in New York City. In 2016, Chalmers received the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession Award for Excellence and was named to the Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist. In 2015, The American Lawyer named her “Transatlantic In-house Lawyer of the Year.”
