Steve Bell is a Managing Director at BarkerGilmore and Chair of the Industrial and Manufacturing Search Practice. Steve collaborates with executive teams nationwide and specializes in identifying and recruiting senior legal and compliance executives. He has a keen eye for hard-to-find talent that clients covet and has experience in a myriad of industries, including global manufacturers, infrastructure and construction organizations, energy and renewables, private equity, and agriculture. Starting his practice within the Financial Services Group, Steve has always focused on highly regulated industries and the nuances of how regulators think. Steve’s background in psychology gives him a thought-provoking view of what drives individuals and how to form an effective and successful team. He understands the motivation behind success and how to bring the highest level of talent to any organization. Steve brings a highly collaborative approach and assesses talent not only from a skills perspective, but measures cultural fit, judgment, and what is not on the resume.

In his career to date, Steve has placed numerous General Counsel from a Fortune 100 to a top five energy start-up, the Chief Compliance Officer for a global consumer goods company, built out global legal teams and succession plans, the U.S. Head of Operational Risk and Senior Vice President of Risk for a Fortune 100 international banking corporation, the Vice President of Compliance & Audit with a national healthcare leader, and the Chief Compliance Officer for an international healthcare services organization.
