BarkerGilmore has been engaged on an exclusive basis to identify a lawyer with experience in the retail industry for one of the fastest growing retailers in the country.  This unique opportunity is located in Manhattan and will report directly to a dynamic and accomplished General Counsel with an incredible track record in the retail space.  This national apparel retailer is currently expanding with new stores across the country and has seen a year to year growth of close to 10% and an almost 15% increase in sales this quarter alone.  The stock is currently up 50% from one year ago and regularly delivers impressive results to investors.  While the majority of companies in this space have been adversely impacted by the economy, our client’s business model  has allowed it to prosper and continue a long track record of success. 

 

The lawyer in this role will manage the Company’s compliance with federal, state and local product laws and regulations (including the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act and Proposition 65), providing day to day advice to the Company’s buyers and other business units.  Additionally, the lawyer will manage the Company’s responses to agency inquiries and carrying out remediation efforts. The attorney will also help manage the Company’s product compliance and training initiatives, act as a liaison between the Legal department and its New York buying office, and assist with various other Legal department projects and initiatives. If the economy has slowed your career down and you are looking for a promotional opportunity with a growing and exciting company, then this is the opportunity for you.
